When you export custom detail tags with a format type of NUMERIC or DATE, the format switches to a character type by design.
Even when the format is shown as Numeric in the export fields, as shown in the display below, the output is changed to a character format:
Because the length of a character field is set to 32767 characters, campaigns that use numerous custom detail tags might run out of disk space, and the export process might take more time to complete.
For example, suppose that you have an export with 42 columns of export fields, and you add a Date tag field to the export. The export process increases from 30 seconds (without the date tag) to more than 5 minutes (with the date tag), based on an export of 200,000 records.

After you apply the hot fix, the column width for the exported custom detail tag is calculated based on the number of treatments AND the maximum width of the numeric data, which is 32 bytes.
